Hi! I am Christine Fowkes, President of the Deutscher Musik Verein, aka the DMV. I wanted to take a few minutes to say hello to all of you that take the time to follow us and update you on what we are looking to be doing in 2021.

Due to the pandemic we were unable to present our annual Jägerfest in 2020. Unfortunately, we have made the decision to not hold Jägerfest in 2021. We felt it would be irresponsible to host an event during the first half of 2021 when we looked at where things stand with the current situation. If you have not had the opportunity to attend a Jägerfest, you are missing out. It is an enjoyment for us to host and a lot of fun for those that attend. Jägerfest 2022 is tentatively planned for April 2nd – so block off your calendars now!

We have started booking dates for our fall fest season in 2021. We are hopeful that by the second half of 2021 we will be able to get back to freely enjoying time and events with our friends and families – and hopefully some new friends! If you know of events you would like to see us at, let me know or have the event reach out to us. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook for updates to our schedule in 2021. At this time, you will not find any events posted. Even though we are booking dates we need to ensure the safety and health of our performing members for performances and rehearsals. More than likely we will begin posting dates around June or July.

2020 was not what any of us expected and I hope this message finds all of you well as you head into 2021. So, Thank You for following the DMV and keeping us in your thoughts while we get prepared to entertain you again in the future.

I would also like to thank our Executive Board and Board of Trustees. Both of these groups are essential to the DMV and have been very helpful with the decisions we had to make in 2020 and heading into 2021.

And a huge thank you to our band members and their families. We wouldn’t be here with out them. Their level of commitment to the DMV, high-level of standards of what we present to audiences, enjoyment of embracing the German culture and ability to have fun in any situation. And of course, their families. You give your family members time to spend rehearsing and performing with the DMV and participate yourself, we have had a lot of fun.

And I can’t forget Fred, our director. Thanks to your knowledge and inspiration the DMV can provide such quality entertainment now and into the future.

Band members, your families and Fred, I am proud and honored to call you all my family!!

So, from me and the DMV family I would like to wish you a Frohe Weihnachten und ein gesundes neues Jahr, auf English, a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year!

Prost!!
